Forever His
Unfortunately, one thing that I feel is so neglected in the Body is true genuine love for our brothers and sisters in Christ. Have they wronged you? Forgive. Have they offended you? Love covers a multitude of offenses… I just can’t seem to find any one place in scriptures where it says to speak against your brother or sister in Christ (the true Savior) because of stupid follies.
- Romans 12:9-10 Let love be genuine. Abhor what is evil; hold fast to what is good. Love one another with brotherly affection. Outdo one another in showing honor.
- Galatians 5:13-14 For you were called to freedom, brothers. Only do not use your freedom as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another. For the whole law is fulfilled in one word: “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.”
- Hebrews 13:1 Let brotherly love continue.
- 1 Peter 1:22-23 Having purified your souls by your obedience to the truth for a sincere brotherly love, love one another earnestly from a pure heart, since you have been born again, not of perishable seed but of imperishable, through the living and abiding word of God;
- 1 Peter 2:17 Honor everyone. Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honor the emperor.
- 1 Peter 3:8-9 Finally, all of you, have unity of mind, sympathy, brotherly love, a tender heart, and a humble mind. Do not repay evil for evil or reviling for reviling, but on the contrary, bless, for to this you were called, that you may obtain a blessing.
- 1 John 2:9-11 Whoever says he is in the light and hates his brother is still in darkness. Whoever loves his brother abides in the light, and in him there is no cause for stumbling. But whoever hates his brother is in the darkness and walks in the darkness, and does not know where he is going, because the darkness has blinded his eyes.
- 1 John 4:19-21 We love because he first loved us. If anyone says, “I love God,” and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he who does not love his brother whom he has seen cannot love God whom he has not seen. And this commandment we have from him: whoever loves God must also love his brother.
Tell me, dear siblings… Where is it justified to bash? (Not to be mistaken with correcting in love.)
